Advanced cloud, communications and networking technologies are transforming cars into fully connected and eventually autonomous devices — forever changing how OEM’s collaborate with partners and suppliers. Don’t miss this exciting session where panelists representing automotive OEM’s will ask the tough communications questions that will ultimately determine the design and engineering requirements of these revolutionary vehicles. The promise of 5G mobile networks will be key to meeting the demand of the transportation technologies of the future. As these communications technologies mature, questions abound about the potential features and capabilities, how they will support Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and be essential elements to accelerate next-generation automotive services.

Topics to be discussed will include:

  • Latest 5G technology developments including LTE+, chipsets, small cell, mmwave RF and other low latency technology
  • Ongoing expansion of LPWAN deployments
  • V2X communications technologies
  • Network interoperability and assurance
  • Densification enabled by edge data centers
  • Network slicing that support automotive IoT platforms
  • Data management, privacy and security
  • Artificial intelligence and augmented reality
